How to Redact a PDF Safely

Why overlays are not enough
Drawing a black rectangle over sensitive text can leave the original text, images or objects inside the PDF. Secure redaction must remove or rebuild the underlying content rather than merely covering it.
Flattened redaction
The Redact PDF workflow renders each page, paints opaque redaction areas directly into the rendered pixels and creates a new PDF from the sanitized page images. This intentionally removes the original text layer and interactive features.
Verify the result
For sensitive information, search and copy from the exported file and confirm the redacted content is not present. Keep the original protected separately.
