How to scan documents to PDF

Open the camera after granting permission, capture pages one at a time, or upload existing photos. Review the page list, edit each capture, arrange the final order and create one PDF.

Using your phone camera

Camera access is requested only after you press Open Camera. The tool asks for video only, prefers the rear camera on mobile, and never requests microphone permission.

Upload existing photos

JPG, JPEG, PNG and WebP photos can be added in batches. Uploaded images use the same crop, rotation, enhancement and ordering workflow as camera captures.

Crop and rotate scans

Manual crop uses a draggable rectangle with corner handles. Rotation changes the exported pixels, so the final PDF reflects the edit rather than showing a CSS-only preview.

Improve document readability

Brightness and contrast adjustments can improve faint captures. Grayscale removes color. Black & White uses a luminance threshold intended for high-contrast document text, not general photography.

Choose PDF quality

High Quality keeps more pixels and JPEG detail. Recommended balances readability and size. Smaller File reduces output resolution and compression quality.

Multiple-page scanning

Captured pages remain in the browser session and can be reordered. The final PDF page order always follows the visible page list.

Privacy and camera permissions

The camera stream stays local and is stopped when the camera closes or the tool resets. Captured page images are not uploaded. HTTPS is required by modern browsers for camera access.

Troubleshooting

If camera permission is denied or no camera is available, use Upload Photos. Large sessions containing many high-resolution phone images can consume significant memory.
